Literary significance and reception

Don D'Ammassa was critical in his review for Science Fiction Chronicle saying "the story is so involved with the descriptions of battles in the air and on the land that the characters don't develop very well and since I didn't care whether they lived or died, I soon didn't care which side eventually claimed the planet."cite journal|last=D'Ammassa|first=Don|date=October 1, 2004|title=Double Eagle|journal=Chronicle|pages=p25|issn=0195-5365]
