John Sall

John Sall

John Sall is an American software developer and businessman. He is a partial owner of the SAS Institute (Sall currently owns about 1/3 of the company, while James Goodnight owns the other 2/3). Sall is a billionaire, with a net worth of approximately $4.4 billion as of 2007.

He received a Bachelor of Arts in Science from Beloit College and an MBA from Northern Illinois University.

Sall met business partner James Goodnight as a graduate student at North Carolina State University. He joined Anthony James Barr, Goodnight, and Jane Helwig in founding the SAS Institute in 1976, which is now believed to be the largest privately held software maker in the world.

Sall is from Cary, North Carolina. He is married and has 4 children.
