Anisingaraju: Ani-singa-raju:The word Anisingaraju means a person who is equivalent to a lion king in a battle field. The word 'ani' in
Sanskrit means battle. Singa-raju translates to lion-king.Legend has it that few
brahmins helped aHindu king in a battlefield and the king praised them stating that the brahmins fought like lion-kings in the battle. He gave them the title 'anisingaraju'. That term became the family name for the generations of those brahmin families.
