Russell Bishop is the Chair Professor of Māori Education at the University of Waikato [cite web |url=http://edlinked.soe.waikato.ac.nz/staff/index.php?user=rbishop |title=School of Education, University of Waikato - SoE Staff - Russell Bishop |accessdate=2008-01-20] and the director of Te Kotahitanga, a research program.
