"Rise Above This" is the second single from Seether's album "Finding Beauty in Negative Spaces". It is the sixth track on the album. Seether's vocalist Shaun Morgan has stated that the song is about his late brother, Eugene Welgemoed, and was written before his suicide. It has been released on the bands official MySpace page, as well as on their official website.

Music video

The music video, directed by Tony Petrossian who also directed the "Fake It" video, debuted on MTV2 and MTV2's website on April 5th, 2008. It has a storyline about a depressed boy who decides to leap off a building. As he falls, his family falls with him. Through the course of falling they try to overcome their problems and eventually bounce back up. It has a Suicide Hotline number at the end of the video on television airings; as well as a picture of Shaun Morgan's younger brother. At the bottom of the picture, it says 'Eugene Welgemoed 1981-2007' in memory of his late brother. The video reached Number 1, beating Puddle of Mudd's "Psycho", on Fuse's #1 Countdown: Rock. For a split second near the end, a tear can be seen falling from lead singer Shaun Morgan's right eye.
