Emmanuel Borowsky

Emmanuel Albert Borowsky (born 1987, Baltimore, Maryland USA) is an American violinist and since his successful debut at the age of six, has been lauded as an outstanding musician of his generation. He has performed recitals and concerts throughout North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East and has frequently been featured on television and radio programs.

Musical family and early performance highlights

Emmanuel’s musical talent has been nurtured since early childhood: his mother (Cecylia Barczyk) is a cellist and his father, Charles K. H. Borowsky, Ph.D., is a noted social scientist who has used music as a tool to bridge people and nations.

Emmanuel began his violin studies at the age of four and soon was performing concerts in the USA and abroad. At 10, he performed Vivaldi’s A-minor concerto in Washington D.C.'s Basilica of the National Shrine for over 9,000 people. At age 13, Emmanuel represented North America at the UNESCO World Child Prodigies Concert in Amman (Jordan).

He frequently performs together with his sisters, pianist Elizabeth Borowsky and cellist Frances Borowsky. Together, they are called "The Young American Virtuosi". In 2004, they were awarded the Erick Friedman Prize for Outstanding Young Musicians and performed a New York debut recital at Carnegie Hall. The entire family (parents included) performs together as The American Virtuosi.

Performances of note

At 15, Emmanuel was selected to perform on the prestigious International Public Radio Show “From the Top.” His performance was aired by over 250 stations in the USA and abroad. At 18, he performed for an audience of over 100,000 people at the World Youth Day in Cologne, Germany.

Emmanuel has been featured as a soloist with orchestras in the USA, Germany, Poland, Israel, Jordan, and China; including the Tianjin Symphony Orchestra, Eisenach Festival Orchestra, National Conservatory of Jordan Orchestra, Israeli Soloists Orchestra, Poznan Symphony, Szczecin Philharmonic, Katowice Philharmonic, Rzezow Chamber Orchestra, Susquehanna Symphony Orchestra, and Loudon Symphony. His concert at the Paderewski Ad Memoriam Festival with the Polish Camerata (June 1999) was broadcast internationally by Pol-Sat TV.
