Emil Ghuri

Emil Ghuri (Ghoury), a Christian Palestinian, was Secretary of the Arab Higher Committee (AHC), the official leadership of the Arabs in the British Mandate of Palestine. In May 1947, Ghuri was nominated by the AHC as a member of its delegation to represent it before the United Nations in its special session for Palestine [cite article |url=http://www.wrmea.com/backissues/0699/9906029.html|title=Seventy-forty plenary meeting of the UN General Assembly|date=1947-05-05|author=United Nations Secretariat] .Other people nominated for this delegation were Rajai Husseini, Henry Cattan, Wasef Kamal, Issa Nakhleh, Rasem Khalidi.

After the death of Abd al-Qadir al-Husayni on 8 April 1948, Haj Amin al-Husayni gave the command of the Holy War Army to Ghouri.
