- Griesenberg
Griesenberg is a village and former municipality in the
canton of Thurgau ,Switzerland .It was first recorded in year 1256 as "Griessinberc".
The municipality also contained the villages Altenburg,
Bänikon ,Fimmelsberg ,Holzhof ,Leutmerken andTümpfel . It had 500 inhabitants in 1850, which decreased to 438 in 1900, 397 in 1950 and 352 in 1990.In 1995 the municipality was merged with the other, neighboring municipalities
Amlikon ,Bissegg andStrohwilen to form a new and larger municipalityAmlikon-Bissegg .References
