Verticordia " that describes a group of sixteen shrub species. This description was first made in 1857 byCarl Meissner in "Journal of the Proceedings of the Linnean Society" ["Journal of the Proceedings of the Linnean Society", Botany 1: 44 (APNI)] , but he did not nominate a type for this grouping. The section was later included within thesubgenera , as "Verticordia" subg. "Eperephes", ofAlex George 's 1991 arrangement of the genus.
