Antonio Pérez Yuste (21 June 1968, Toledo, Spain) is a Professor in Telecommunications Engineering at Technical University of Madrid, Spain. He also serves as a Director of the University President's Cabinet [ [http://www.upm.es/directorio/GabiRector.html Gabinete del Rector - U.P.M ] ] .

= Biography =He has held some different academic positions: he was Faculty vice Director from 1997 to 2001, Faculty Director from 2001 to 2004 and Director of the President’s Cabinet from 2004 to the present day, all at Technical University of Madrid. Since 1999, he has also been in charge of the Master’s Program on Satellite Engineering of this university [ [http://www.euitt.upm.es/postgrado/satelite/ Master’s Program in Satellite Engineering (Spanish) ] ] .

In 1991 he joined the Department of Communication and Audio & Video Engineering at Technical University of Madrid as an Assistant Professor, where he carried out research on Digital Communication Systems. In 1995 he changed his position to Associate Professor, being involved with Numerical Methods Applied to Electromagnetic Field problems. Finally, he was promoted to Professor in 2008.

At present, his research interest lies in the History of Electrical Engineering. A research work developed from 2004 to 2006 led to the dedication of an IEEE Milestone in Electrical Engineering and Computing to the Telekino of Leonardo Torres y Quevedo on March 2007 [ [http://www.ieee.org/web/aboutus/history_center/telekine.html IEEE - IEEE History Center: Early Developments in Remote-Control, 1901 ] ] , which is the first one granted to a Spaniard. In 2008, he promoted an agreement between the Technical University of Madrid and the IEEE History Center [ [http://www.ieee.org/web/aboutus/history_center/ IEEE - IEEE History Center Home Page] ] to enhance each other's educational, academic and reseach activities.

He received his B.Eng. in Radio-Communications (1991), M.Eng. in Telecommunications (1996) and Ph.D. (cum laude) in Electrical Engineering (2004), all from the Technical University of Madrid. His Ph.D. thesis was related to the history of the Spanish Telephone Service [ [http://oa.upm.es/472/ EPrints - La Compañía Telefónica Nacional de España en la dictadura de Primo de Rivera (1923-1930) ] ] . He also obtained his B.Sc. in Physics (1992) from the National University for Distance Education (Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia), Spain.

He received the ‘INISEL Award’ to the best Bachelor Thesis, in 1991, and was distinguished with the ‘Faculty Collaboration Award’ from the ‘Escuela Universitaria de Ingeniería Técnica de Telecomunicación, EUITT’, in 1996. He also received the ‘Technical University of Madrid Medal’ in 2004 for his outstanding work as a Faculty Director. He is an IEEE Member and a SHOT Member.
