Beitunia ( _ar. بيتونيا) also Bitunya is a Palestinian town located three kilometers west of Ramallah and 14 kilometers north of East Jerusalem city. The town is in the Ramallah and al-Bireh Governorate in the central West Bank. According to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics, the town had a population of approximately 13,300 in mid-year 2006, [ [http://www.pcbs.gov.ps/Portals/_pcbs/populati/pop07.aspx Projected Mid -Year Population for Ramallah & Al Bireh Governorate by Locality 2004- 2006] Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics] making it the third largest locality in its governorate.

Beitunia's land area consists of 26,174 dunams of which 3,362 is built-up area. The Israeli West Bank barrier separates Beitunia's urban area from 66% of the town's lands, however most of the cut-off territory (Seam Zone) is made-up of forest and open spaces making it prime agricultural and grazing land.
