Alberta's Industrial Heartland
- Alberta's Industrial Heartland
Alberta's Industrial Heartland, also known as Upgrader Alley, is a joint land-use and planning project between several municipalities in the Edmonton Capital Region to attract oilsands upgraders and other industrial projects to their region.
The project was founded in 1999 by Strathcona County, the City of Fort Saskatchewan, Sturgeon County, and Lamont County. The project claims to be the largest concentration of industrial development in Canada west of Toronto.
The largest completed project to date is the Scotford Complex, which includes an upgrader, a refinery, and a railyard.
