Viktor Zubkov (basketball)

Victor Alekseyevich Zubkov ( _ru. Виктор Алексеевич Зубков; born 24 April, 1937 in Rostov, Soviet Union) is a retired Soviet basketball player considered one of the most distinguished players of Soviet and European basketball in the 50's and 60's, who won two silver medals at the Olympics for the Soviet national team.

As a member for the national team for seven years (1956–1963) he won two Olympic silver medals (1956 and 1960), one world championship Bronze medal in 1963 (in which he was also team captain) and three European championships (1957, 1959, 1961).
He retired from basketball in 1966 and since then has worked as senior instructor and deputy chief of the military-engineering academy named after Valerian Kuybyshev and as the head coach of the Mozambique national team.
