Germanischer Lloyd guidelines for fuel cells on ships and boats

The Germanischer Lloyd guidelines for fuel cells on ships and boats is a guideline from the Germanischer Lloyd a classification society based in the city of Hamburg, Germany. In Europe it is used as a guideline for fuel cells on ships and boats.

Codes and standards have repeatedly been identified as a major institutional barrier to deploying hydrogen technologies and developing a hydrogen economy. To enable the commercialization of hydrogen in consumer products, new model building codes and equipment and other technical standards are developed and recognized by federal, state, and local governments. The guideline for fuel cells on ships and boats is used for the world's first fuel cell ship hydra, tuckerboot, Yacht no 1, zebotec and zemships, the first hydrogen fueled 100 passenger ship in the world.
