Laura Amy Schlitz is an American author of
children's literature . She is alibrarian and storyteller at Park School inBaltimore County ,Maryland .She received the 2008
Newbery Medal for herchildren's book entitled "Good Masters! Sweet Ladies! Voices from a Medieval Village ". Her other published books are "The Bearskinner: A Tale of the Brothers Grimm" (2007), "A Drowned Maiden's Hair" (2006), and "The Hero Schliemann: The Dreamer Who Dug Up Troy" (2006).Schlitz attended

Good Masters! Sweet Ladies! Voices from a Medieval Village "The monologues in this book were written by Laura for the 5th Grade curriculum at The Park School. Each student performs one (or more) of these monologues while learning about the medieval ages.
