- Hans van Abeelen
Hans van Abeelen (November 20, 1936-August 21, 1998), from Enschede, The Netherlands, was the first Dutch behavior geneticist.
He obtained his Ph.D. at the Catholic University of Nijmegen in 1965. He was a founding member of the
Behavior Genetics Association and served on theEditorial board of its journal, "Behavior Genetics" from its creation in 1971 to 1992. van Abeelen took early retirement in 1991, but nevertheless became one of the founding members of theInternational Behavioural and Neural Genetics Society .
