José Albano Ferreira da Mota (born February 25, 1964 in Paredes) is a Portuguese manager, currently in charge of Leixões S.C. in the Portuguese first dvision.

Mota spent his whole career at boyhood team F.C. Paços de Ferreira, where he played from 1983 to 1997, often leading the club as its captain. After retiring, he immediately joined the side's coaching staff, being promoted to main coach in 1999. In 2004, he had a short stint with Azores team C.D. Santa Clara but returned to Paços de Ferreira shortly after.

In 2006-07, Mota led Paços de Ferreira to the UEFA Cup for the first time, where they lost in the first round 1-0 on aggregate to Dutch side AZ Alkmaar.

In July 2008, Mota left Paços de Ferreira and joined fellow league side Leixões S.C..
