- Alan Myers (drummer)
Alan Myers is an American drummer. He was the third and most prominent drummer of the band
Devo . Myers joined Devo in 1976 to replaceJim Mothersbaugh and left between 1986 and 1987 after the album Shout. Myers was unwilling to become obsolete in the shadow of a drum machine and did not want to tour.Fact|date=September 2007 It would appear he was willing to come back as he wrote some drums for "Total Devo ", but was uncredited.Fact|date=September 2007 He was replaced by David Kendrick of Sparks. Among all of Devo's drummers, he is the one most associated with the band and probably the most popular among Devo fans. After he left Devo he recorded a demo with "Babooshka," a band that was his wife's brainchild. However, even this demo uses a drum machine. Myers contributed percussion for Deborah Gee's debut album, "Portal", which was released in 2000.
