The Egmond or Egmont
family is named after Dutch town ofEgmond and played an important role in theNetherlands during theMiddle Ages . The family also had a link withBuren .Eventually the family died out in the 17th century except for the "van Dijck van't Velde" branch also known as "Paats van Dijck".
