- Allan Park, Aberdeen (park)
Allan Park is a small, 6 hectare park situated on the South side of the suburban village of Cults. The Park was gifted by the local community to commemorate Queen Victoria's 100 year reign on the throne. [ [http://www.aberdeencity.gov.uk/acci/web/site/Parks/NSS/pos_AllanPark.asp Allan Park ] ] It contains a large overgrown bog which was formerly a skating rink. There is also equipment for small children to amuse themselves. They include a slide, swings and a climbing frame.
Allan Park has also been home to Cults Cricket Club since 1893 and matches are often played there during the summer months. [ [http://cultscricketclub.co.uk/history.html History ] ] In the off season, the cricket pitch is segregated from the surrounding pitch with wooden trestles to prevent damage to the grass.
A large football pitch, with two full sized goals is also contained within Allan Park. The goalmouths have recently been filled with sand and will be returfed in June 2008.
