Simon Simonian

Simon (Ovei vordi) Simonian (March 11, 1914, Ainteb - March 11, 1986, Beirut) was an Armenian intellectual, writer, public activist and teacher, founder of the Spurk Journal.

Simonian headed the main archive of the Holy See of Cilicia, Lebanon. He's the author of many Armenian teachbooks on history and language, director of "Sevan" publishing house.

He was called "the tempest of the Armenian spirit" by his student Meguerditch L. Bouldoukian [ [http://www.azad-hye.net/article/article_view.asp?re=670dag54 Hovaguimian-Manougian Secondary School for Boys in Beirut, Commemoration of the 50th anniversary, 1997] ] .
