William B. Ide Adobe State Historic Park
- William B. Ide Adobe State Historic Park
William B. Ide Adobe State Historic Park is a park located in the Shasta Cascade area of Northern California, south of Redding. The park was named after William B. Ide, a California pioneer and president of the short-lived California Republic, which lasted for 22 days. There is an adobe memorial to him located in a picnic area overlooking the Sacramento River. The park contains an old adobe home, carriage shed, blacksmith shop and a small visitor center.
The park is one of the 48 California state parks proposed for closure in January 2008 by California's Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger as part of a deficit reduction program, since rescinded following public outcry.
