Robert Joseph Sykes (born December 11, 1954 in Neptune, New Jersey) is a retired Major League Baseball pitcher. He played during five seasons at the major league level for the Detroit Tigers and St. Louis Cardinals. He was drafted by the Tigers in the 19th round of the by|1974 amateur draft. Sykes played his first professional season with their Rookie league Bristol Tigers in by|1974, and split his last season with the New York Yankees' Double-A Nashville Sounds and Triple-A Columbus Clippers in by|1982 after being traded to the Yankees for Willie McGee October 21,1981.
