A Good Man in Africa is a 1994 film, based on the novel "A Good Man in Africa" (written by William Boyd in 1981), and directed by Bruce Beresford.

ynopsis

Morgan Leafy is British diplomat and works in the small African state of Kinjanja, in the process of decolonisation. Arthur Fanshawe, a new member of the Commission, brings Leafy the news that oil has just been discovered in Kinjanja. For the British to obtain the benefits of such unexpected news, they must maintain good relations with the man who appears likely to be the next president of Kinjanja, Sam Adekunle. But a diplomatic crisis occurs: a woman dies at the High Commission and the British want to prolong the native burial honors for several days.

This the first time Sean Connery and Diana Rigg acted together. Diana Rigg was the Bond Girl of the film "On Her Majesty's Secret Service", the 1st "official" James Bond film without Sean Connery as 007. Diana Rigg had worked before with another actor of 007 (out of the James Bond franchise), Roger Moore, in some episodes of the TV series "The Avengers".
