Ormskirk Hockey Club

Ormskirk Hockey Club is a hockey club from Ormskirk, Lancashire, England, which plays in the English hockey league system. The club's home is Edge Hill University.

History

Ormskirk Hockey Club was founded in the wake of St. Helens Hockey Club becoming defunct. It is based in the market town of Ormskirk in Lancashire, England. Ormskirk has two teams which compete in the Kukri North-West Hockey leagues. The club is sponsored by a local pub, The Windmill inn, having formerly been sponsored by IT firm Galtec Solutions.

Honours

Having only been created in 2005, Ormskirk started in the bottom level of the Kukri North-West Hockey league system, starting in league 10. However in their first two seasons, they have gained promotion in both years and now play in division 8.

Controversy

The club recently had to terminate the membership of prolific striker Adam Anwar after he was found to be selling Class A Drugs to children in the local area and is now serving a 10 year sentence at Her Majesties pleasure. Fellow member Jon Doherty was also implicated in the case but was aquitted after giving evidence against Anwar. There is now a price on his head of £4.99 and a bag of skittles.
