George "Chick" Evans (sometimes called "Red" Evans) was the ninth head college football coachfor the Northern Illinois University Huskies located in DeKalb, Illinoisand he held that position for twenty-six seasons, from 1929 until 1954.His career coaching record at Northern Illinois was 131 wins, 70 losses, and 20 ties. This ranks himfirst at Northern Illinois in total wins and fourth at Northern Illinois in winning percentage.
