Jason Grimes

Jason Grimes (born September 10, 1959) is a retired long jumper from the United States, best known for winning the silver medal in the men's long jump event at the inaugural 1983 World Championships (Helsinki, Finland). He set his personal best (8.43 m) on 1985-06-16 at a meet in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Grimes graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1981 as a three-time SEC champion and seven-time All-America selection. He holds both the indoor and outdoor school long-jump records and went on to hold a second-place world ranking in the long jump (1983-1984). His collegiate bests were 26 feet, 2 inches (indoors) and 26-4 (outdoors), and his personal-best was a jump of 28-2.

Grimes was also an alternate member of the U.S. Olympic Team in 1984. He has represented the United States on several national teams.
