Jonathan Smith (born 31 October 1988 in Wigan, England) is an English professional football player who is currently unattached and without a club.

He joined Aberdeen after a successful trial in the summer of 2007 and was once on the books at Wigan Athletic and Liverpool, though never made the break through.cite news|url=http://www.football.co.uk/aberdeen/dons_trial_for_striker_smith_251718.shtml|publisher=Football.co.uk website|title=Dons trial for striker Smith|date=30 August, 2007] Smith made his debut in a league match against Falkirk on 5 January 2008.

On 15 April 2008, he was told he would not be offered a new contract by Aberdeen and would be free to leave in the summer along with six other players. Signed for F.C Halifax Town in the Unibond leage division one north in August
