Carter D. Early years

Hartwig played high school football at Central High School in Fresno, California [ [http://www.databasefootball.com/players/playerpage.htm?ilkid=HARTWCAR01 Carter Hartwig Past Stats, Statistics, History, and Awards - databaseFootball.com ] ] . He then played college football for the USC Trojans.

Professional career

Hartwig was a 8th round pick (214th overall) by the Houston Oilers in the 1979 NFL Draft [ [http://www.databasefootball.com/draft/draftyear.htm?yr=1979&lg=NFL 1979 NFL Draft on databaseFootball.com ] ] . He played for the Oilers from 1979 to 1984.
