Trip Through the Grand Canyon

Trip Through the Grand Canyon

Trip Through the Grand Canyon is a musical composition created in 1990 by George Stone, then chief MIDI Producer for Passport Designs [http://virt.vgmix.com/?p=32#comment-67042] , that became popular among personal computer users for its inclusion as an example MIDI musical file (Canyon.mid) in several versions of Microsoft Windows: the file is present on all installations of Windows 3.1, 95, 98 and ME in the directory C:windowsmedia.

It has also been used as an example MIDI file in many computer publications and websites, for example the Microsoft Knowledge Base [ [http://support.microsoft.com/kb/123394] ] [ [http://support.microsoft.com/kb/141756] ] . The version included in Windows 3.1, plays much more slowly than the one in later Windows releases. The composition was also used as fanfare in some Windows Entertainment Pack games, such as Chip's Challenge.
