Primadonna Resorts

Primadonna Resorts is a casino company based in Nevada. The company owns three hotel/casinos along I-15 at the Californian border in Stateline, Nevada (now Primm, Nevada). Primadonna Resorts is a wholly owned subsidiary of Herbst Gaming.

The hotels, currently marketed as "Primm Valley Resorts" or "Primm Valley Casino Resorts", are a popular stop on the drive between Vegas and California. Whiskey Pete's used to have a display of the "Bonnie and Clyde" car, but it has since been moved across the freeway to the newly redesigned Primm Valley Resort.

The various hotels are connected across I-15 by both a monorail and an amusement train.

History

The hotels were built by the Primm family. The family's history in the area is the reason the area received the official name, Primm.

Whiskey Pete's was the first of their hotels. The Primadonna Hotel was the second hotel built, and it was later renamed to the Primm Valley Resort. These two hotels are connected by a single car monorail across the I-15. Buffalo Bill's was the third hotel built. Buffalo Bill's and Primm Valley Resort are connected by a train across the I-15, as well as Whiskey Pete's and the latter.

On March 1, 1999 MGM Grand Inc. acquired Primadonna Resorts in an all-stock transaction that had been announced on November 9, 1998. On October 31, 2006, MGM Mirage announced plans to sell Primm Valley Resorts to Terrible Herbst Gaming for $400 million. The proposed sale would not include the Primm Valley Golf Club.
