The 2003 edition to the Outback Bowl featured the Florida Gators, and the Michigan Wolverines.

Michigan got on the board first, following a 4 yard touchdown run by Chris Perry, to open up a 7-0 lead. In the second quarter, Florida running back Earnest Graham scored on a 2 yard touchdown run, to tie the game at 7. Earnest Graham later scored on a 1 yard touchdown run, but the 2 point conversion attempt failed. Florida led only 13-7. Chris Perry scored on a 1 yard touchdown run, to give Michigan a 14-13 lead.

Matt Leach connected on a 29 yard field goal to give Florida a 16-14 lead. John Navarre threw an 8 yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Ronald Bellamy to give Michigan a 21-16 halftime lead. In the third quarter, Rex Grossman threw a 33 yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Keiwan Ratliff, to give Florida a 23-21 lead. Chris Perry scored on a 7 yard touchdown run to give Michiga a 28-23 lead. He later scored on a 12 yard touchdown run to increase the lead to 35-23.

In the fourth quarter, Rex Grossman found wide receiver Aaron Walker for a 3 yard touchdown pass to cut the lead to 35-30. After Adam Finley connected on a 33 yard field goal, Michigan claimed a 38-30 lead. That score would hold up, and be the final score.
