Lori Dennis

Lori Dennis, ASID, LEED AP (b. 1969) is an environmentalist, entrepreneur, interior designer, television and radio guest expert, writer and lecturer.

Lori Dennis graduated from the UCLA Interior Design program (CCIDC) in July 2000. In 2000 she formed Dennis Design Group which specializes in sustainable (green or eco-friendly) interior design and is currently the principal designer of the firm. Dennis Design Group is one of the nation's top Green Interior Design Firms, presented with the Greeopia Award in 2008, as well as HOME Magazine(Home Magazine 2008 p.64-71)'s "2008 Best Green Remodel" award.

In 2004 Dennis Design Group began working with Eco Aware, celebrity clients like Horace Grant who has played professional basketball for the Detroit Pistons, Orlando Magic, Seattle Supersonics and Los Angeles Lakers and environmentalist/television personality Chef Jeffrey Mora who is the chef for the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Kings. Other projects include residential, commercial and hospitality interiors in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, Miami, Palm Springs and New York all with eco-friendly components.

In 2006 Lori Dennis passed the NCIDQ Exam and became a full member of ASID. Dennis currently serves on the Los Angeles Chapter of ASID’s Green Committee and Website Committee. Dennis is also a member of the finance committee of the UCLA Interior Design Alumni Association Board.

In 2007 Lori Dennis passed the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) for Commercial Interiors certification exam, making her a LEED AP professional. Traditionally, LEED professionals focus their efforts on public and commercial interiors, while Dennis sets her firm apart by bringing sustainable education and service to millions in the residential sector.

Dennis was a co-lecturer with David Hertz for the UCLA Interior Design program on the subject of sustainable design.

Dennis’ sustainable interior design work and expertise has been featured in Woman's Day Magazine (Woman's Day Magazine 2008, p.16; 2006,p.52-56;2006p. 82-87,Smart Home Owner (Smart Home Owner Magazine April 2006,p. 46-48; August 2005,p.39)HGTV Magazine, Small Room Decorating(Small Room Decorating Magazine August 2008,p.34-37;December 2007, p.22-25; April 2006 p.35-38), California Homes (California Homes Magazine April 2008, p.102), the Los Angeles Times, Dwell (Dwell MagazineJune 2008,p. 72) and countless other magazines and periodicals throughout the world. The work of Dennis Design Group has recently been published in the book, "Modern Design, The American Collection", edited by Kira Krumm.

Lori Dennis currently writes a furniture column for the Tibesti.com website. Dennis has also been featured as a guest expert on XM radio with Nancy Glass, KABCRadio Los Angeles,HGTV, Discovery Channel, Food Network Channel and NBC.
