Gerard "Gerry" Brady (born 1948) is a former Irish
Fianna Fáil politician and a formerTeachta Dála (TD) for Kildare. 23rd Dáil , but at the November 1982 general election he lost his seat toFine Gael 'sBernard Durkan . He was defeated again in the 2007 election, and did not stand forDáil Éireann again. Having served only ten months in the Dáil, he became the sixth shortest-serving TD, a record which he still holds. However, in the 1985 local elections he was elected toKildare County Council as a councillor forCelbridge , and held his council seat in the 1991 elections.
