Lieutenant General Sir Thomas Herbert John Chapman Goodwin KCB, KCMG, DSO (24 May 1871 – 29 September 1960), known as Sir John Goodwin, was a British soldier and medical practitioner, who served as the Governor of the Australian state ofQueensland between 1927 and 1932.Goodwin was born in 1871 in
Kandy , Ceylon to aBritish Army surgeon father and an Australian mother. He was educated inEngland at Newton College, Devon, and undetook medical training atSt Mary's Hospital, London where he graduated with aMembership of the Royal College of Surgeons (M.R.C.S.) andRoyal College of Physicians (L.R.C.P.) in 1891.Paul D.
