MRSE

MRSE

Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus epidermidis is a bacterium responsible for difficult-to-treat infections in humans. Like MRSA which is a resistant variation of the common bacterium Staphylococcus aureus, MRSE is a resistant variation of the common bacterium Staphylococcus epidermidis. It has evolved an ability to survive treatment with beta-lactam antibiotics. It can cause infections in hospitals including central venous catheters associated infections. Like MRSA there are few treatment options available to treat MRSE. Vancomycin is often the last choice
