Hand paddle

A hand paddle is a "coloured plastic device that is worn on the swimmer's hands during swim practices to enhance muscle build-up or speed." History

The hand paddle was invented by Benjamin Franklin in the 19th century [ [http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_qa3871/is_199901/ai_n8844329 Gadgets, widgets and fins: 19th century pool toys | Swimming Technique | Find Articles at BNET.com ] ] . Sometimes known as "America's first swimming coach."

Types of Paddles

Types of paddles include:
* Finger paddles - Designed to fit on your fingers and built for all strokes, (butterfly), backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle.
* Freestyle Paddles - Designed especially for swimmers swimming freestyle.
* Han's Paddles - The Original Holed Swimming Paddles.
* Speedo Original Hand Paddles - One of the first and made for most strokes.
