Zillertalbahn

The Zillertalbahn is a 760 mm gauge private railway running along the Zillertal from Jenbach to Mayrhofen within the Tyrol area of Austria.

Most of the services operate using modern diesel locomotives and railcars but the Zillertalbahn also has several steam locomotives which are used with heritage veranda rolling stock for special trains targeting tourists [http://www.zillertalbahn.at/page.cfm?vpath=specials/countryzug&switchLocale=en_UK] Zillertalbahn webpage about steam trains] . Goods traffic uses transporter wagons carrying standard gauge goods wagons. Some of the Zillertalbahn’s redundant rolling stock was bought by the Welshpool and Llanfair Light Railway in the UK.

In Jenbach the Zillertalbahn meets the ÖBB standard gauge line between Salzburg and Innsbruck and the metre gauge Achenseebahn. Jenbach is the only location in Austria where railways with three different gauges met.
