Major League Baseball All-Star Game MVP Award
- Major League Baseball All-Star Game MVP Award
The Major League Baseball All-Star Game MVP Award is given to the most outstanding player in each year's Major League Baseball All-Star Game. Awarded each season since by|1962, it was originally called the "Arch Ward Memorial Award" after the man who first came up with the concept of the game. The name was briefly changed to the "Commissioner's Trophy". In 2002, the award was renamed "The Ted Williams Most Valuable Player Award" in honor of former Red Sox player Ted Williams, who had died earlier that year. Because the game ended in a tie, no winner was named that year, making the Anaheim Angels' Garret Anderson the first recipient of the Ted Williams Award in 2003.
