Its seat is the village of Jasienica Rosielna, which lies approximately convert|9|km|mi|0 north-west of Brzozów and convert|32|km|mi|0|abbr=on south of the regional capital Rzeszów.

The gmina covers an area of convert|57.55|km2|sqmi|1, and as of 2006 its total population is 7,380.

The gmina contains part of the protected area called Czarnorzeki-Strzyżów Landscape Park.
