Josephine Hart is an Irish
writer ,theater producer andtelevision presenter. She is widely known as author of the novel "Damage", which was itself the basis for a film directed byLouis Malle and featuringJeremy Irons andJuliette Binoche .Career
Previously the director of
Haymarket Publishing , she was a founder of Gallery Poets and West End Poetry Hour.She produced several West End plays, including the
Evening Standard Award winner, "The House of Bernarda Alba" byFederico García Lorca .She has appeared on television as the presenter for the
Thames TV series "Books by My Bedside".Her papers are currently housed at the Howard Gotlieb Archival Research CenterFact|date=July 2008.
