Ribble Valley Line that serves the villages/suburbs ofRamsgreave andWilpshire which lie just north ofBlackburn inLancashire ,England . The station is 4 km (2¾ miles) north ofBlackburn railway station .The present station was built 400 yards south of the original Wilpshire station which served the
Ribble Valley Line before it was closed just before theBeeching Axe in1962 . When the line was re-opened in1994 a new site had to be found, due to the construction of houses which blocked access to the old station. The platforms which served as the old Wilpshire Station can still be seen today.ervices
The station is operated by
Northern Rail and is served by a daily hourly service to Clitheroe to the north and Blackburn andManchester Victoria to the south.External links
