Aylsham High School is a school in the market town of Aylsham in Norwich, in Norfolk.

The school serves 924 students ranging in age from 11 to 16. Paul Mitchell is the head teacher, however, he has decided to retire at the end of the current academic year. Sue Platt is the chair of governors.

Pupils at the school are banned from having a mobile phone while in attendance (as of April 2006). Those who need them for safety reasons are allowed to leave them at the school office and pick them up at the end of the day. In April 2006, Paul Mitchell said the school had not experienced problems with students using the phones to text hate mail to teachers, record student misbehaviour or teacher reactions to it, but school officials were aware those problems had occurred elsewhere. Friendly Faces project

Students participating in the school "Friendly Faces" anti-bullying project won a national Philip Lawrence Award in December 2007, receiving a prize of £1,000 from home secretary Jacqui Smith.

The project, first introduced in 2001, has eight Friendly Face co-ordinators, who support a larger team at the school. Originally the program aimed to support students who felt they were victims of bullying. The project was later broadened to support all students. A dedicated Friendly Face room at the school is used as a drop-in centre where students can go during breaks or lunchtime. At least two "Friendly Faces" are on hand to provide immediate support, advice and guidance on any problem a student wishes to discuss. Before the start of the 2007-2008 school year, Aylsham High sent a DVD to all 180 students starting their first year at the school. The DVD contained a recorded guided tour along with advice and survival tips from older pupils in the Friendly Faces project. In the DVD, students explained the school's anti-bullying policy, lost property procedures, specifics about wearing the school uniform, along with other topics new students may worry about. Officials at other schools were considering making DVDs after judghing the Aylsham High DVD a success.
