- Quinta Grande
Quinta Grande is a parish in the district of
Câmara de Lobos in theMadeira Islands . The population in2001 was 2,156, its density was 554.2/km² and the area is 3.89 km². It is located west of the downtown area. The main industry is agriculture. It is connected with a road linking Calheta andFunchal . The famousCabo Girão , the second highest bluff in the world is due south next to the parish and further south, theAtlantic Ocean . Quinta Grande is situated on a mountain slope with a ridge located to the west and northwest. West of the slope is the western part of the parish. The ridge contains a couple of forest surrounding the cliff and a communications tower which is mainly used for radio and telephone. Vineyards and some farmlands surround the parish and more lies to the north and east and is for the production ofMadeira Wine . The parish of Ribeira Brava is to the west and is bounded in the middle of the cape. The cape is seen as far as Funchal to the east.Nearest parishes
