Soundmixshow

The Soundmixshow was from 1985 until 2002 a Dutch television show where contestants could sing live a song of a professional artist. The show was presented by Henny Huisman [ [http://italy.imdb.com/name/nm1186884/bio Biography of Henny huisman on the IMDB] ] [ [http://www.standaardsite.nl/createsite/page/createpage.asp?b_id=7718&pg=7 CV on Henny Huismans official website] ] , who was before also very successful with the Playback Show, where contestants did not have to sing themselves. A jury of three professionals judged the artists. Jacques d'Ancona was a member of this jury since short after beginning, and also Barry Stevens was a long standing member of the jury. The Soundmixshow meant a breakthrough for quite some talented young Dutch artists, as it was a platform with a relative low threshold and a broad audience. The Soundmixshow was produced by Endemol. In the finals of 1988, Huisman asked all the people watching the show to call a specific phone number for televoting. Originally the Soundmixshow was a spin-off of the Playback Show, but there were more, similar, programs presented by Henny Huisman throughout the years [ [http://www.standaardsite.nl/createsite/page/createpage.asp?b_id=7718&pg=7 CV on Henny Huismans official website] ] . There was also a spinn-off from the Soundmixshow, the Sterrensoundmixshow, where stars, professional musicians, sang songs of other professionals.

In 2002 the Soundmixshow was the platform for a debate between politicians just before the parliamental elections.
