Robert Taub (b.
1955 ) is an American concert pianist known for his performance ofcontemporary classical music . He has performed and recorded many of the works ofMilton Babbitt ,Mel Powell , andVincent Persichetti .Taub's debut performance was at
Alice Tully Hall inNew York City . He has performed atLincoln Center andCarnegie Hall in New York, as well as throughout the United States, Europe, East and Southeast Asia, and Latin America. He has performed with thePhiladelphia Orchestra , andLos Angeles Philharmonic , theSan Francisco Symphony , theMontreal Symphony Orchestra , theBBC Philharmonic , and theHong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra .In addition to his performance of contemporary music, he is known for his performances and recordings of the music of Beethoven, Scriabin, Schumann, and Liszt. He has recorded for the
Vox ,Harmonia Mundi , New World, andCRI labels.He is a graduate of
Princeton University , and completed his doctoral degree at theJuilliard School , where his primary instructor wasJacob Lateiner .Books
