Serbian National Renewal

Serbian National Renewal

The Serbian National Renewal ("Srpska narodna obnova") was the first Serbian nationalist political party founded in the country. It was formed in 1989 by Vuk Drašković, Mirko Jović and Vojislav Šešelj. Its leaders soon split up and in 1990 Šešelj formed the Serbian Radical Party and Drašković formed the Serbian Renewal Movement.

The party has been linked to the paramilitary group Dušan Silni. [ [http://arhiva.kurir-info.co.yu/Arhiva/2007/maj/31/V-03-31052007.shtml KURIR ] ] Its members have been found guilty of war crimes related to the Lovas massacre.
