- German Scales
German Language Musical Scales
These are written differently in German, and often in music of Germanic origin, as follows:
Sharps (#): (das) Ais/ais (A sharp), cis (C sharp), dis (D sharp), fis (F sharp), gis (G sharp)
Flats (b): (das) Des/des (D flat), es (E flat), ges (G flat), as (A flat), b (B flat)
Moll: Minor scale
Dur: Major scale
The note 'H' is the equivalent of 'B' in English. The note 'B' however, does exist in German music notation too : it is 'H' lowered by half a step (which equals Bb or A#).
Example
H-moll in German is B-minor
H-dur in German is B-major.
