Burnbank

Burnbank is a district of Hamilton that sits on the border of Blantyre.

Famous landmarks of Burnbank include Udston Parish Church, Udston Social and Recreational Club (Jaffa Club), and the Burnbank Masonic Club.

Burnbank was the birthplace of legendary football manager Jock Stein, and former Scotland international footballer Jim Bett who also played for Rangers and Aberdeen.

1960s World Flyweight Boxing Chamion, Walter McGowan, was also born in Burnbank, and used the old Udston Hospital as a training base.

Burnbank is home to the new First Bus depot.
