- Robert Chichester
Lt.-Col. Robert Peel Dawson Spencer Chichester (
13 August 1873 -10 December 1921 ) was an Irish soldier and politician. He was the son of Lord Adolphus John Spencer Churchill Chichester (son of theEdward Chichester, 4th Marquess of Donegall ) and Mary Dawson ofCastledawson (d. 1924).Robert Chichester married Dehra Kerr-Fisher, later member of the Northern Ireland Parliament for Londonderry and South Londonderry. They had two children;
* Marion CarolineDehra Chichester (d. 1961). Her children includedPrime Minister of Northern Ireland James Chichester-Clark, Baron Moyola and Sir Robin Chichester-Clark.
* Robert James Spencer Chichester (30 Sep 1902 - 5 Jan 1920)Lt.-Col. Robert Chichester gained the rank of Major in the service of the
Irish Guards and served in theBritish Central Africa Campaign between 1897 and 1900. He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of theRoyal Irish Rifles . He also fought in theBoer War .He held the office of
High Sheriff ofCounty Londonderry and County Antrim. He wasJustice of the Peace (J.P.) forCounty Donegal , Co. Antrim and Co. Londonderry. He held the office ofDeputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of County Donegal,County Antrim and of County Londonderry. He lived at Moyola Park, Castledawson, County Londonderry, Ireland.He was a
